I don’t own Gamefreak, so yeah, anything licensed is free.
Updates follow the Pokédex and I’ll add patterns as life allows.
Each pattern fits comfortably in a 6-inch hoop and roughly measures 5 inches by 5 inches when complete, when using 14 Adia cloth. Using a tighter weave will result in a smaller finished picture. I use 18 Aida, so my Pokémon tend to be in the 3 to 4 inch range. Some of the Gen 5 and onward sprites were very large, so they will be over 6 by 6 inches. I’ve marked them, so don’t be surprised how big Swoobat is on 14-inch cloth.
Please note that I create these patterns from Pokémon game sprites, so small sprites will yield smaller patterns; therefore, the 5-inch by 5-inch size is the median size. A Horsea will be an inch to a half-inch smaller than an Onix, as will a Ditto, which has less pixel definition than a Victreebel.
Legal stuff: since none of us created and/or trademarked Pokémon, all licensed patterns are intended for personal use only. Please don’t resell patterns or products made from them. I can’t save you from Pikachu’s super-effective lawyers.
Also, this website is proudly and permanently ad-free. I may one day sell some original non-licensed patterns, but your attention isn’t a product here. So much of online life is besieged by advertisements (even the stuff you paid for), and I hope The Pattern Pokedex lets you be a person for a few minutes instead of a commodified set of eyeballs. Feel free to grab your pattern, flee the internet entirely, and start working on your project. Better yet, start a stitch circle, share some printed patterns with a friend, and/or spend some quality time stabbing a picture into being with your loved ones!
